Abstract

This paper demonstrates how we can generate coherent light of lasing characteristics from a system made of a two-level system and a nanoparticle. The lasing is achieved by embedding the whole system in a polaritonic band-gap material. The study is conducted on silver nanoparticles embedded within silicon carbide.
