Abstract

The contribution of the intermediate vector boson to the muon anomalous moment is calculated in the ξ-limiting formalism. We find Δκμ=Δ[(gμ2)2]=(gW28π2)(MμMW)2[2(1κW)lnξ+103], where 2(gWMW)2=GF is the Fermi weak coupling constant and κW is the W anomalous moment. For κW=0, and ξ chosen according to the prescription of Lee, this contribution is numerically Δκμ1.0×1080.8(απ)3.
