Abstract

Using data accumulated with the CLEO detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of L=5.63pb1 on the peak of the ψ(2S) [3.08×106 ψ(2S) decays] and 20.70pb1 at s=3.67GeV, we report first measurements of the branching fractions for the following 13 decay modes of the ψ(2S): η3π, η3π, ρK+K, K+Kπ+ππ0, 2(K+K), 2(K+K)π0, ρpp¯, pp¯π+ππ0, ηpp¯, pp¯K+K, ΛΛ¯π+π, Λp¯K+, and Λp¯K+π+π, and more precise measurements of 8 previously measured modes: 2(π+π), ρπ+π, 2(π+π)π0, ωπ+π, K+Kπ+π, ωK+K, ϕK+K, and pp¯π+π. We also report new branching fraction measurements of ϕπ+π and ωpp¯ and upper limits for ηπ+π, ηK+K, and ϕpp¯. Results are compared, where possible, with the corresponding J/ψ branching ratios to provide new tests of the 12% rule.
