Nonequilibrium molecular-dynamics studies on the anisotropic viscosity of perfectly aligned nematic liquid crystals

Abstract

The Miesowicz viscosities η1, η2, and η3 and the Leslie coefficients γ1 and γ2 of perfectly aligned nematics are determined by nonequilibrium molecular-dynamics simulations. The results are compared with theoretical predictions and with experimental data.
