Abstract
We report the observation of the doubly strange baryon in the decay channel , with and , in collisions at . Using approximately of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, we observe signal events at a mass of . The significance of the observed signal is , corresponding to a probability of of it arising from a background fluctuation.
