Search for the Lepton-Flavor-Violating Leptonic B0μ±τ and B0e±τ

Abstract

We have searched a sample of 9.6×106 BB¯ events for the lepton-flavor-violating leptonic B decays, B0μ±τ and B0e±τ. The τ lepton was detected through the decay modes τνν¯, where =e,μ. There is no indication of a signal, and we obtain the 90% confidence level upper limits B(B0μ±τ)<3.8×105 and B(B0e±τ)<1.3×104.
