Precision Measurements of the ${\Lambda }_{\mathit{c}}^{+}$ and ${\mathit{D}}^0$ Lifetimes

We report new precision measurements of the lifetimes of the ${\Lambda }_c^{+}$ and $D^0$ from SELEX, the charm hadroproduction experiment at Fermilab. Based upon 1630 ${\Lambda }_c^{+}$ and 10 210 $D^0$ decays we observe lifetimes of $\tau \left[{\Lambda }_c^{+}\right]=198.1\mathrm{}\pm 7.0\pm 5.6\mathrm{fs}$ and $\tau \left[D^0\right]=407.9\mathrm{}\pm 6.0\pm 4.3\mathrm{fs}$.
