Four-fermion theory is renormalizable in 2+1 dimensions

Abstract

The four-fermion interaction in 2+1 dimensions is nonrenormalizable in weak coupling perturbation theory. We show that this model is in fact renormalizable order by order in the 1/Nf expansion, and we find this theory a finite ultraviolet fixed point.
