Abstract
A model for pion diffractive dissociation as a two-stage process is examined, where first the pion breaks up to system, followed by the hadronization of this quark-antiquark system. This model appears to be consistent with the present experimental data. Implications of this hypothesis for a study of quark-antiquark jets is suggested.
