Abstract

Based on 58×106 J/ψ events collected with the BESII detector at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider, the baryon pair processes J/ψΣ+Σ¯ and J/ψΞ0Ξ¯0 are observed for the first time. The branching fractions are measured to be B(J/ψΣ+Σ¯)=(1.50±0.10±0.22)×103 and B(J/ψΞ0Ξ¯0)=(1.20±0.12±0.21)×103, where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic.
