Abstract

We discuss entropy bounds for two-dimensional gravity models. While the Bekenstein bound can be proved to hold in general for weakly gravitating matter, the analogous situation of the holographic bound is not universal, but depends on the specific model considered. We give a proof of the Bekenstein bound which is independent of the dimension of spacetime and of the gravity action.
