New laboratory technique for measuring the photon charge

A measurement of the deflection of a laser beam in a modulated magnetic field with a prototype apparatus has produced an upper limit on the charge of the photon of $8.5\times {10}^{-17}e.\mathrm{}$ It is shown that an improved apparatus could attain a sensitivity of ${10}^{-21}e.\mathrm{}$
