Abstract

A systematic and exhaustive study of homogeneous and isotropic cosmological models in Barker’s theory of gravitation is reported, where present values of dynamical functions are consistent with astronomical observations and solar-system experiments. Except in the special case where q0=Ω0/2, which constitutes a region of zero measure in the allowed zone of the (q0,Ω0) plane, the age of the Universe in these cosmological models is less than the age of old globular clusters. Other specific features of Barker’s cosmologies are also presented.
