Cross section for forward $J/\psi$ production in $p\overline{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.8\mathrm{}\mathrm{TeV}$

The inclusive cross section for $J/\psi$ production times the branching ratio $B(J/\overrightarrow{\psi }{\mu }^{+}{\mu }^{-})$ has been measured in the forward pseudorapidity region: $B\times d\sigma [\overline{p}+\overrightarrow{p}J/\psi {(p}_T>10\mathrm{}\mathrm{GeV}/c,2.1<|\eta |<2.6)+X]/\mathrm{d}\eta =192\mathrm{}\pm 9(\mathrm{stat})\pm 29(\mathrm{syst})\mathrm{pb}.$ The results are based on $74.1\pm 5.2{\mathrm{pb}}^{-1}$ of data collected by the CDF Collaboration at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The measurements extend earlier measurements of the D0 Collaboration to higher $p_T^{J/\psi }.$ In the kinematic range where the experiments partially overlap, these data are in good agreement with previous measurements.
