Abstract

A search for the lepton-family-violating decay ημe and the rare decay ηe+e yields the following branching ratio (B) upper limits at a 90% confidence level: B(ημe)<6×106 and B(ηe+e)<2×104. This is the first direct search for ημe. The measurements were carried out at the SPES2 tagged η facility at Laboratoire National Saturne in the course of a measurement of B(ημ+μ).
