Abstract
We investigate the possibility of having massive gravitinos in higher dimensions (D=10, 11) with their masses generated by s-conformal and gauge-invariant, second-derivative actions which we add to the respective standard (massless) Rarita-Schwinger actions. In three dimensions this strategy leads to finding the gauge-invariant topologically massive gravitino which is the supersymmetric partner (and generator) of the, also gauge-invariant, bosonic Chern-Simons mass-generating term. We show here that in each dimension beyond 3 where Majorana spinors exist (D=4, 10, 11) there is a unique s-conformal topological and gauge-invariant, massive action. These actions can uniformly be associated with their respective first-order master actions which are dynamically equivalent to them.
