Abstract

On the basis of a field-theoretic quark model proposed recently, the width of ψ(3770) has been calculated in terms of quark-model parameters. This has been utilized to obtain σ(e+eDD¯) around the center-of-mass energy corresponding to the ψ resonance, where also the effect of ψ and ψ as intermediate states for DD¯ production has been included. With Γee(ψ) as a free parameter, the results of the calculations have been compared with the experimental results. Γee appears to be smaller than earlier estimates.
