Abstract

We use the model-independent experimental charge density for Pb208 to determine a model-independent point-proton density. An improved two-parameter Fermi function representation for the this point-proton density provides input for the analysis of experiments for the neutron density interpreted in terms of neutron skin and halo properties of Pb208.
