Abstract

Elastic scattering of 240 MeV Li6 ions from Sn116 was measured from 4°θc.m.32°. The data were fitted with a Woods-Saxon phenomenological potential and with double folding models using the M3Y NN effective interaction with and without density dependence. DWBA calculations with the fitted parameters were used to calculate cross sections for inelastic scattering to low-lying 2+and 3 states. B(E2) and B(E3) values were extracted and compared with electromagnetic values and those obtained from α inelastic scattering.
