Abstract

Sargeant et al. conclude from model calculations in their paper [Phys. Rev. C 65 024302 (2002)] that the degree of chaos in normal deformed states does not enhance the decay out from the superdeformed band. We show that this conclusion is based on a rather unlikely assumption.
