Abstract

A path integral estimator is presented for the local superfluid response at impurities and interfaces in quantum fluids. The estimator is shown to provide a consistent analysis for the rotational response in inhomogeneous Bose systems. Applications are made to the response of superfluid helium in highly structured solvation layers around small linear molecules (CO2 and OCS) and around a large planar molecule (phthalocyanine) in helium clusters of variable size.
