Tunable plasma response of a metal/ferromagnetic composite material

Abstract

We suggest that if we fill the holes in a perforated metal film with transversely magnetized ferromagnets, the plasma frequency can be effectively tuned by an external magnetic field. This hybrid composite system may have applications in microwave technologies.
