Abstract
Ionization of a quantum well formed in a heterostructure and subject to reciprocally perpendicular ac electric and dc magnetic fields has been investigated. The electric field is perpendicular to the well boundaries and has so low a frequency that the number of electromagnetic quanta required for ionization is more than unity. The rate of multiphoton ionization has been found. The dependence of this rate on the magnetic field and the electric field frequency is discussed.
