Abstract
The Zeeman splitting of the first excited level of a two-dimensional parabolic GaAs quantum dot is studied perturbatively in the presence of the polaronic interaction. It is shown that the Zeeman effect is suppressed considerably in a GaAs quantum dot because of the polaronic effect and becomes strongly size dependent if the dot size is reduced below a few nanometers.
