Abstract
We derive generalized analytical expressions of changes in the oscillator strength of an -dimensional exciton due to Pauli blocking mechanisms in quantum wells. The effect of dimensionality, temperature, and density of charge carriers on the exciton binding energy are studied in the light of known experimental results in and quantum wells. Our results show that Pauli blocking effects reach minimum levels at critical well widths depending on the material composition. The quantitative study of provides an improvement on works which employ exact two-dimensional exciton models.
