Abstract

With the use of the variational method to solve the effective-mass equation, we have studied the magnetopolaron bound to a Coulomb impurity in quantum-well wires. The magnetopolaron binding energy in the ground state and in the excited state, as well as the resonance energy of the magnetopolaron are calculated. Their dependence on the size of quantum-well wires and the magnetic field is depicted.
