Exact map of Kondo impurities onto a semi-infinite chain

Abstract

We map one or several Kondo impurities interacting with a band of electrons in d dimensions onto fermions hopping along a semi-infinite chain, in a generalization of the Kondo basis of Wilson. We also simulate the crossover behavior of an infinite chain by a short one while keeping key features of the Kondo effect.
