Abstract

The cyclotron resonant frequencies of an exciton in a GaAs/Ga1xAlxAs quantum-well structure have been studied. The results show that the cyclotron resonant frequency ωc* is lower than ωLO as a result of the electron-hole Coulomb interaction, and ωc* is a function of the quantum-well width, and does not exhibit ‘‘pinning’’ at a frequency near that of the TO phonons.
