Interband optical transitions of a parabolic quantum well in the presence of an applied midinfrared field

Abstract

Based on the exact solution for electronic states of a parabolic quantum well in the presence of a midinfrared field, we evaluate the interband absorption coefficient and the change in the refractive index. It is shown that the interband optical response is modulated by the midinfrared field.
