Abstract

A theoretical study of multichannel magnetotransport through quasi-one-dimensional quantum wires with a periodic structure of circular bends is made. The exact numerical calculations of the conductance as a function of the Fermi energy are performed for various magnetic fields. Although the conductance shows periodic miniband and gap structures in the lowest plateau, the aperiodic patterns caused by the strong interchannel scattering appear in higher conductance plateaus. The conductance is extremely sensitive to any small changes of the Fermi energy and of the magnetic field.
