Abstract
We report the results of an investigation of the temperature and intensity dependence of the steady-state luminescence of wide GaAs quantum wires. With increasing temperature, higher-energy quantized states of the excitonic center-of-mass motion can be observed in luminescence. At high excitation intensity the change from two-dimensional to one-dimensional behavior occurs, and true one-dimensional transitions appear in luminescence spectra.
