Spin-flip relaxation time of quantum-well electrons in a strong magnetic field

Abstract

We present theoretical estimates of the spin-flip relaxation time of conduction electrons in a quantum well subjected to a strong magnetic field B. We find that the spin-flip relaxation time increases as B1/2 if the scatterers are pointlike defects.
