Abstract
We describe the excess holes in the sheets of as a two-dimensional hole gas in a quantum well in the presence of negatively charged impurities. We calculate the density of states with a multiple-scattering approach. We discuss the broadening of the impurity band with increasing y, which corresponds to an increasing hole concentration. The spectral density, which describes for vanishing hole concentration the Fourier transform of the squared wave function, is evaluated. We compare our results with recent measurements of with y<0.007.
