Electric polarizability of isolated C70 molecules

Abstract

We present the gas phase measurement of the static electric dipole polarizability of C70 fullerenes. The value is 102±14Å3. The increase in polarizability from C60 to C70 is discussed and compared to different theoretical predictions.
